Anyway, I decided to give this game a try and preordered. If anyone is interested, I would recommend preordering a digital version at the game's official site. Preorders done there have 5 days of early access and some other bonuses, most important of those might be ability to join any alliance with...

That's reassuring to hear, as most of the press I've seen so far seems to be pretty negative...

Hi Darby! It's been a while :) I wasn't following any of the recent MMO announcements or betas lately, as everything I've tried in the past few years invariably turned out to be utter garbage... May be now is a good time to take another look at the scene - there HAS to be one successful game eventua...

Nice last day surge - almost +300K from more than 2000 new backers!
Glad to see they succeeded, as the outlook was looking rather bleak until the last day...

Hi Raf! Don't get me wrong - I do like the game idea, but... The argument of additional investors is actually another turnoff, for a simple reason. If kickstarter is your only primary source of funds, kickstarter community mostly dictates what gets built (ok, developer may not listen, but, let's ass...

I look at it this way: - Wasteland 2, which is a single person 2.5D isometric rpg, collected 3m - 3x the original goal. While it is too early to say, it seems kickstarted funded games that are likely to succeed tend to beat the goal handily. CU, on the other hand, goes up slow, and would barely reac...

Horizon Game to be published

A belated Happy New Year :) Been too busy preparing the launch of my own (single-player) strategy game http://www.horizongame.com we're about to begin beta testing. Man, this is awesome! There were quite a number of very good games from independent developers lately (Legends of Grimrock rules!!!), ...

Raf may still be playing Arctic occasionally. I tried GW2 when it launched, and didn't like it at all - running same 5 pvp maps over the over got boring rather fast, and world pvp at that point was not particularly exciting either. Robb has been around in GW2 as well - but somehow I don't think he l...

... and then you find it is the same 5 maps over and over...
so the choice is waiting for 3 hours for wvw or playing 5 maps in tourneys.
Thus after 3 weeks of playing comes the verdict: fun at first, then usual boredom.

structured pvp rules!

This time tired of waiting endlessly for WvW pvp, I went into structured one. Immediate 10v10 matches, not the tournament. Excellent - few different maps, melee feels MUCH better. Interestingly enough, on each next game you can see former teammates in the opposite team - which makes it even more fun...

Speaking of PvP / WvW. To get to any, there is a queue, which is currently 3+ hours long on our server (if it is server based). Then when you finally get to it, you will find that ranged classes is the way to go. Why you may ask? Because it takes 300+ badges of honor to get good items, and you get b...

Ok some notes on PvP: I went in with my level 7 warrior, so all of my skills aren't opened up as yet. Interesting - I was under impression that when you get to pvp you are auto-level 80 and all skills are unlocked... At least that's how it was in the last stress test (the only one I was able to par...

I'm sure Ferro is also taken, my second favorite character after Logan himself. I love those books, can't wait for Red Country to come out. I didn't read 'Heroes' yet, annotation kind of scared me off. By the way, if you liked the dark style and not having a 'good' hero (most characters these are q...
